Zakat-al-Fitr, or fitrah, is an obligatory offering to the needy that is given at the end of Ramadan. The head of a household is expected to give fitrah for each member of his/her household before the start of Eid Salat. The amount of fitrah for each individual is the equivalent of one meal, or approximately $8 - $10 per household member.
Each year NWMI collects fitrah and forwards it to a worthy recipient. This year NWMI will forward all fitrah funds to Muslim Social Services Agency. If you would like to make a fitrah payment, click on the Donate button below.
