Eid al-Adha Program

  • Rollins Congressional Club 1621 Martha Terrace Rockville, MD, 20852 United States (map)

The takbirat will start at 9:45 am, with salat starting promptly at 10:00 am. After Salat we will have a potluck brunch followed by a children's program, where the children will enjoy a Jamaraat sling shot, ZamZam ring toss, and more!

This year's Eid-al-Adha khutba (sermon) will be delivered by Usman Sarwar.

Usman Sarwar has been active in the local Muslim community for nearly 20 years, with a particular focus on developing Muslim youth. He has volunteered with the Islamic Society of Potomac’s annual summer youth camp since 2003, and worked with the DC Council of area Muslim Student Associations, representing the University of Maryland, College Park. He co-founded the First Hijrah youth group in Northern Virginia, and studied Arabic in Damascus, Syria. He later worked as Youth Coordinator and Education Chair at the Muslim Community Center (MCC) in Silver Spring before joining the board as Vice President two years ago.

NOTE: NWMI celebrates with the hajjis and holds salat and celebrations on the day after they stand at Arafat.

A description of how NWMI performs Eid salat can be found here.
