PROGRAM INTERN

NWMI is seeking a Program Intern to undertake a variety of program management tasks to support the Head of Operations.   The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, an approachable demeanor and will enjoy having direct contact with volunteers and community members.   S/he must have a passion for helping others.

Responsibilities:

  • Locate and purchase supplies needed for events;

  • Ensure all items on event checklist are complete prior to the event;

  • Maintain NWMI supplies in Silver Spring;

  • Manage day-of needs of selected programs;

  • Maintain spreadsheets with pertinent event information

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Email, Google Docs, and Internet).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A successful track record of setting priorities, shaping processes, guiding investment in people and systems, and developing an infrastructure that creates a stronger and more efficient organization

  • Able to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and goals

  • A consummate team player with a flexible and creative approach

Hours:

  • Flexible hours.

  • 3-5 hours per week.

Reports to: Head of Operations
