Children’s Program Event Lead

NWMI is seeking a Children’s Program Event Lead to create and implement a childcare program at NWMI events that is engaging and age-appropriate. The ideal candidate(s) enjoys children and will have exceptional organizational and management skills. S/he must have a passion for helping others and excellent interpersonal skills, an approachable demeanor, and will enjoy having direct contact with volunteers and community members. This is a flexible, paid position that would entail engaging children through games, crafts, and storytelling. Enthusiasm for working with small children is a must! Opportunities for students also available as well.


  • Create and implement program for children that is engaging and age appropriate

  • Assisting in creating lesson plans, activity prep and games ahead of time

  • Lead age-appropriate discussions about Islamic holidays, stories, etc.

  • Lead circle-time including games, songs and stories

  • Assist children in craft creation

  • Supervise games

  • Assist children in basic needs (meals, handwashing, etc.)

  • Submit post-event summary form


  • Strong candidates will be able to manage and engage children.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A consummate team player with a flexible and creative approach.

  • Experience in professional volunteer management, public relations, special events and networking is a plus.

Hours & Pay

  • During the entirety of a NWMI program

  • $15-$20 per hour depending on experience
