Children’s Program Support Staff
NWMI is seeking childcare support staff to assist the Children’s Program Event Lead in implementing programming for children during NWMI events. S/he must have a passion for helping others and excellent interpersonal skills, an approachable demeanor, and will enjoy having direct contact with volunteers and community members. This is a flexible, paid position that would entail engaging children through games, crafts, and storytelling. Enthusiasm for working with small children is a must! Opportunities for students also available as well.
Assist with creating lesson plans, activity prep and games ahead of time
Assist in age-appropriate discussions about Islamic holidays, stories, etc.
Assist with circle-time, including games, songs, and stories
Assist children in craft creation
Assist children in basic needs (meals, hand-washing, etc.)
Submit post-event summary form
Strong candidates will be able to manage and engage children
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A consummate team player with a flexible and creative approach
Experience in professional volunteer management, public relations, special events and networking is a plus
Hours & Pay
During the entirety of a NWMI program
$10-15 per hour depending on experience
