NWMI is a diverse, inclusive community of American Muslims in the Washington, D.C. metro area. We seek spiritual, intellectual, and social growth towards Allah (swt) that is guided by the Quran and the example of the Prophet Muhammad (saws), as transmitted through his family, the Ahlul Bayt (as).
We offer programs tailored to the needs of American Muslim families.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Nourishing mind, body, and soul — through discussion circles, dhikr, yoga, thoughtful lectures, Islamic art workshops, and a robust Ramadan calendar.
YOUTH & TEENS
Adventure, connection, and leadership — through unforgettable outings (escape rooms, ski trips, laser tag), CampNWMI, and a Teen Council run entirely by teens themselves.
SERVICE & SOCIAL JUSTICE
Compassion in action — through serving meals to neighbors in need, supporting refugee families, and standing together for justice and dignity.
