Eid is right around the corner, and NWMI is having a fantastic celebration you won't want to miss!

Join us virtually for a live-streamed Eid salat and English sermon from from the comfort of home!

The entire community is invited to attend an epic Eid drive-thru celebration!  Get in your cars (decorate them if you'd like!) with your entire family and come out for some spectacular live entertainment (jugglers, unicyclists, an amazing bubble artist, an electric violinist!) and stations offering so many exciting items including: brunch, popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream, twisty balloons, face paint tattoos, goodie bags, games with awesome prizes, and best of all, a petting zoo! (Participants will be able to get out of cars in limited numbers at a time for the petting zoo.)

*Please note that other than during timed entry to the petting zoo, attendees are required to stay in their cars at all times for this event.*

Eid Sermon by Br. Safa Alkateb

Safa Alkateb has been an active community organizer in the DMV area for the past 30 years. He has specific passion for starting organizations not only professionally, but in his nonprofit work. He has run family camps at ISP (Islamic School of Potomac), organized intra-faith town halls, and later co-founded NWMI where he helped build momentum and direction for the organization. More recently, he co-founded ELIF (Empowering Lives Inspiring Faith) in Manchester and serves on the board as chairman.

Safa’s background is in Computer and Electrical engineering, while his passion is in building and scaling innovative companies. He founded his first startup in telecommunications in 2000. He is now the CEO of Autocab, a leading transportation tech provider.
