Jabeen is a Clinical Teaching Fellow in the Domestic Violence Clinic at the Georgetown University Law Center. She has spent her career working with victims of gender-based violence in various non-profits in the DMV. Jabeen holds degrees from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and American University, Washington College of Law.
Zainab holds a masters degree in business and healthcare administration and is currently pursuing a degree in public health from George Washington University. She has experience in nonprofit and community development through social welfare endeavors.
Zuleqa builds community through story-telling both in her day job as a producer for Al Jazeera English TV channel and her forthcoming Urdu podcast, Why the VahVah.
Kumail is the Chief Operating Officer of a 600+ person technology company in Tysons Corner, VA. With an undergraduate degree in technology and an MBA from the University of Maryland, Kumail has built and led organizations of all sizes.
Zeki graduated from the University of Maryland with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. He currently invests and consults with early stage technology startups.
Basil was drawn to NWMI because of its potential to promote positive change in the Muslim community, and is passionate about promoting societal well-being through spiritual development.
Aliakbar is an attorney who guides employers through federal health and welfare law compliance issues. He holds degrees from Georgetown University and the University of Maryland School of Law.
Dr. Majid is Adjunct Faculty at UMBC and Executive Director of the Integrace Institute, a community-based non-profit organization. She has experience in strategic planning, youth programming, health services, and leadership development.
Hassan has been a Board Member and program manager since NWMI's inception. He is an M.S. graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, a Professional Civil Engineer, and teaches Arabic and Islamic history to local youth.
