Eid al-Adha Sermon

In these challenging times, Muslims lean on their faith for support and wisdom. We are grateful to the leadership and guidance of the esteemed imam Shaykh Jafar Muhibullah, who will offer a sermon entitled Eid al Adha: from Personal Sacrifice to Social Justice. Shaykh Jafar is a resident scholar and Imam of the Ahlul Bayt Association in Austin, Texas, a native English speaker, fluent in Arabic and Farsi, and holds a Masters degree in Islamic Studies from Duke University and a Bachelor's degree in Islamic Law and Theology from Qom.

Congregants are asked to perform Eid prayers on their own before tuning in to the program. We will begin with ten minutes of takbiraat followed by the Shaykh’s inspirational sermon. Consider donning your Eid finery — or proudly showcase your pajamas — and wish your fellow congregants a virtual Eid Mubarak at the end of the program (video participation is optional but encouraged!).

We look forward to spending Eid al Adha with all of you!
