More than any other time, 2020 has made apparent the jarring needs for change in this country. The power and potential of young adults to create solutions to the most pressing challenges of our time cannot be underestimated.
This four-part young adult discussion series, aimed at high schoolers, is an opportunity to uplift and empower the next generation. Participants will explore unique ways to have a positive impact on our world using faith for inner strength and guidance.
Join us for a lively and inspiring discussion on a broad range of topics facilitated by Dr. Tariqah Nuriddin, a former Howard University professor in the Sociology and Anthropology department (2008-2017) and the winner of the Faculty Senate’s Exemplary Teaching Award. Dr. Nuriddin currently works as a survey statistician for the government with a focus on educational research trends among public and private school teachers and students.
A changemaker is anyone who steps up to solve a problem for the good of all.
Contrary to what some might assume, you don’t need a lot of life experience to be a changemaker. Young people — equipped with creativity, energy, and fresh perspective— hold incredible power for unlocking solutions to society’s greatest challenges.

She is the best professor I have had in my college career... she is the type of teacher to make you enjoy the class and actually gain from it. She is very interactive, so don't be afraid to speak and ask questions...
I love Dr. Nurridin [sic]! She's very youthful, upbeat, and passionate about sociology. Her lectures are very entertaining and engaging.
Fantastic Professor! An incredibly smart and funny woman who is great at getting the students' attention.
My favorite professor so far. She genuinely cares about her students and is also the only professor whose lectures I'd look forward to hearing and motivated me to come to class.
