By Allah (swt)’s grace, Teen Camp will be an epic overnight adventure at Camp Wabanna, nestled along the picturesque shores of the Chesapeake Bay, with an afternoon spent on the way back at the beautiful Diyanet Center!
The weekend begins with the chartered bus transporting the teens to Edgewater, Maryland at 8:30am. Upon arriving at Camp Wabanna campers will stow their backpacks into the sleeping lodge and head out for a day of adventure from morning to night!
CampNWMI teens will revel in the exclusive use of the sprawling retreat center which includes a soccer field, indoor gym, gaga ball courts, giant checkers, outdoor gazebos and pavilions for group activities. There will also be a reserved space for daily congregational prayer, dorm accommodations and a massive dining hall. Additionally, we have reserved use of the bonfire circle, the low elements team-building course and kayaking (beginners can practice in a protected lagoon while experienced teens can venture out).
On Sunday morning, after fajr prayer, breakfast and a few final outdoor activities- the chartered bus will transport the campers to the Diyanet Center. Here, we will pray in the awe-inspiring mosque, savor a late lunch in the cafe and engage in inspiring discussions on the lawn. Finally, the bus will bring us back to the designated pick-up location for the convenience of parents in Bethesda, Maryland.
This year, more than ever, Teen Camp will focus on self-discovery and leadership development, fostering lasting friendships and a sense of community. We are thrilled to embark on this journey together alhamdulillah and look forward to creating an unforgettable experience for all involved.
