Communications and Media Manager

NWMI is seeking a Communications and Media Manager to plan, implement, and monitor NWMI’s social media strategy across multiple platforms, including Instagram and Facebook, and maintain the NWMI website.

The Communications and Media Manager will understand the latest in social media trends to effectively engage our community and will work closely with the Director of Programs and Director of Team and Volunteer Engagement to ensure that content is accurate and consistent across all forms of communication. The ideal candidate will have a commitment and passion to realizing NWMI’s mission and vision and uphold NWMI’s values through our website and social media presence. They will be detail-oriented and possess excellent interpersonal skills and an approachable demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends

  • Create engaging text, image and video content to promote events and initiatives and engage the community

  • Design graphics for social media posts and the website that help establish a significant online presence

  • Draft and send regular community Mailchimp emails

  • Update our website with upcoming events

  • Organize NWMI photos and create an end of year slideshow for the community

  • Attend NWMI Team meetings

Qualifications

  • Passion to support the work of NWMI, its mission, vision and values

  • Proficient in creatively engaging target audiences

  • Detail-oriented and organized

  • Experience with Google Workspace and graphic design software

  • Able to work independently and strongly self-motivated

  • Superb command of the English language (both written and oral)

  • Affinity for working in a small non-profit, charitable environment

  • Knowledge of basic website coding is a plus

Hours

  • Flexible hours; up to 3 hours per week.

  • $20-$25 per hour
