Lady Fatima is often characterized by her dignity, modesty and her role as a mother, however, she was also one of the first women in Islam who had to fight for her rights, especially regarding her inheritance. She was able to speak in a way that has made an impact in history and she remains one of our greatest role models in Islam. As an inspiring woman herself, she had a fantastic role model in none other than her own mother, Lady Khadija.
Come be inspired by selected community members through 5-7 minute TED-style talks addressing questions such as:
Who are the contemporary female role models in our lives, and how have these women impacted our life journeys?
What have we learned from them that help us to become diligent in our faith and active within our communities?
How have they helped us overcome obstacles in our lives?
What lessons from these stories will we pass on to future generations?
Join us for tea, a light lunch, and a triumphant afternoon of inspiration.
There will be no childcare for this event.
