Commemorating Lady Fatima

  • Rollins Congressional Club 1621 Martha Terrace Rockville, MD 20852 United States (map)

Lady Fatima is often characterized by her dignity, modesty and her role as a mother, however, she was also one of the first women in Islam who had to fight for her rights, especially regarding her inheritance. She was able to speak in a way that has made an impact in history and she remains one of our greatest role models in Islam. As an inspiring woman herself, she had a fantastic role model in none other than her own mother, Lady Khadija.

Come be inspired by selected community members through 5-7 minute TED-style talks addressing questions such as:

  • Who are the contemporary female role models in our lives, and how have these women impacted our life journeys?

  • What have we learned from them that help us to become diligent in our faith and active within our communities?

  • How have they helped us overcome obstacles in our lives?

  • What lessons from these stories will we pass on to future generations?

Join us for tea, a light lunch, and a triumphant afternoon of inspiration.

There will be no childcare for this event.
