Service Fair & Iftar

  • Langley High School, Cafeteria 6520 Georgetown Pike McLean, VA, 22101 United States (map)
“Humanity is in loss, except those who believe, do good deeds, encourage truth, and recommend patience.”
— Qur'an 103:2-3

Know you want to serve your community but not sure where to begin or who to help first? We’ve got you covered! NWMI’s month of service continues with our first-ever Service Fair!

Program

The evening will begin with inspirational and energizing remarks from Salma Hasan Ali, author of the limited-edition handmade book, 30 Days - Stories of Gratitude, Traditions, and Wisdom, and its companion, 30 Days - Journal. (Both will be available for purchase on site and make meaningful Ramadan and Eid gifts!)

Following the talk, families are invited to discover what ignites their passion by exploring and interacting with various local nonprofit service organizations.  Learn what they do, who they help, and how you can get involved! We will end the evening with communal prayer and a community iftar.

Do A Good Deed Before You Arrive!

Help level the digital playing field by being part of the KindWorks Digital Empowerment Initiative! Please bring used digital devices to this event to be wiped clean and distributed to lower-income adults. Kindworks ONLY accepts laptop computers, iPads, and other tablets that power on (additional guidelines available here).

We hope this Service Fair sets the tone for the entire blessed month of Ramadan. We can’t wait to serve with you! Registration is required for this event.
