Muharram Underground: Enslaved Africans, Karbala, and the Routes of Justice

  • Busboys and Poets 450 K Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20001 United States (map)

Please join us in remembering Imam Husain this Arba’een and reflecting on lessons of social justice from his example. We will hear from Dr. Su'ad Abdul Khabeer as she examines the parallels between the story of Karbala and the underground railroad and what that teaches us about our journey to freedom, justice and equality.

Dinner with a choice of one of three entrees will be served following Dr. Abdul Khabeer’s talk. This program is for ages 12 and up only. We look forward to seeing you and our young adults!

Space is limited. Register today!
