Across spiritual traditions, patterns have long been used to quiet the mind and anchor awareness. Join us this Ramadan to explore pattern-making through a spiritually enriching art experience led by the talented calligraphy artist, Negar Nahidian.
In a calm and welcoming atmosphere, participants will have the opportunity to use white paint pens on a black canvas to create their own distinctive pieces of art. This practice allows you to delve into the elegance of sacred scripts and patterns, while connecting with the spiritual essence of Ramadan. As your hand traces simple shapes, your focus sharpens, your breath calms, and words become a visual prayer. No art experience is needed—only a willingness to slow down, be present, and let the patterns unfold.
With Negar's expert guidance and through the soothing practice of repetition and gentle concentration, the act of pattern-making becomes a meditative journey. This inspiring experience invites you to find your own rhythm and sets the stage for a peaceful and reflective holy month.
SPOTS ARE LIMITED. REGISTRATION WILL OPEN SOON.
Negar Nahidian is a calligraphy artist, graphic designer, and mixed media artist whose practice explores spirituality through visual form. Her work combines Persian calligraphic traditions with contemporary design principles and experimental materials to investigate the relationship between language, structure, and spirituality.
With a background in graphic design, Negar brings a strong focus on composition, balance, and visual clarity to her calligraphic work. Mixed media processes allow her to expand beyond traditional ink and paper, using layering, texture, and material contrast to reflect spiritual inquiry in a contemporary visual language.
Influenced by the holy Quran, sacred writings, and personal research into spiritual practices, her work treats calligraphy as both a disciplined craft and a method of exploration. Rather than focusing on ornamentation, she uses text and form as tools to question meaning, presence, and connection.
Negar Nahidian’s multidisciplinary approach positions her work at the intersection of tradition and contemporary art, offering a visual practice that is grounded, intentional, and reflective.
