NWMI’s month of service culminates with an Eid Wish List project!
The children of refugee families have left behind their beloved homes and endured unimaginable hardships on the path to resettlement in our area. Like all children, they wish for things (a soccer ball, a doll with dark hair, a sparkly bracelet) that bring joy and fun. This Eid, you can help turn these wishes into realiity!
Working with the Immigrant & Refugee Outreach Center (IROC), we have compiled a Wish List of specific toys, books, sports gear, or other items that spark joy or fuel a passion within each individual, unique child. Help us give these kids a magical Eid celebration by purchasing, wrapping, and delivering Eid gifts and cards for their parents to joyfully present!
There are three ways you can serve:
Purchase Gifts! Fulfill the kids’ specific Eid wishes by purchasing brand-new items from our Wish List! You can also donate grocery store gift cards for the families! (Deadline for purchase: April 1.)
Special Request: Do you have a playstation you can donate? Please email gul@nwmi.org!
Wrap Eid Gifts and Make Eid Cards! Let your artistry run wild as you wrap gifts and hand-make Eid cards in a festive, fun atmosphere! (All supplies provided; ages 14 and up; space is limited and registration is required.)
Deliver Eid Gifts! Sign up below if you’d like to help deliver presents to our neighbors in need. We will contact you to coordinate! (Deliveries will take place on April 16.)
We hope participating in this project gives you a fraction of the joy these kids will experience, insha’Allah, and may your good deeds be rewarded!
